The now 40 year old pilot turned his hobby into a profession in 2003, when he took the step from the construction site into paraglider development. Since 2009, Maurer has been competing and dominating! Maurer and his team have competed in the Red Bull X Alps adventure race every two years since 2009. In 2012, he became a full time paragliding athlete.
