Citipati osmolskae Variant:Primed and the last known individualCitipati osmolskae is a species of theropod dinosaur belonging to the family Oviraptoridae, which lived during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 75 to 70 million years ago. Its fossils have been found in the Djadokhta Formation, in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. The name Citipati comes from a Tibetan deity, while the specific epithet "osmolskae" honors Polish paleontologist Halszka Osmlska for her contributions to the study of Asian dinosaurs.
