The company that became ArtCarved was founded as J. R. Wood & Sons in 1850 in Brooklyn, New York. They debuted the "Art Carved" name in the 1920s, as they promoted "carved" designs. They're primarily known for their engagement rings and wedding bands, starting in the WW2 period. J. R. Wood & Sons changed their name to ArtCarved in the 1970s.
