In 1970 the qualification for the award was expanded to include most of the British who served in the Dunkirk sector and their rescue forces

it also became available to Army and RAF officers serving aboard naval vessels

This is the 2nd type MBE awarded from 1936 and is awarded to the present date

The General Service Medal with North Iraq and South Turkey Clasp was awarded for 30 days service or 3 operational sorties between 6th April and 17th July 1991
